Bellman on CD’s and records
Carl Michael Bellman’s artistic works are represented from the earliest times of the recording industry – there are few composers or poets in Sweden who have maintained their popularity over such a long period.
It is extremely unusual to be able to follow the work of a songwriter almost 300 years old and listen to the ways he has been interpreted and understood in a number of different language areas. The Bellman recordings thus comprise a unique source of cultural history and an exciting repository of material for researchers of both music and literature.
The bulk of recorded material is available to serious researchers at the Arkivet för ljud och bild (“The Archive for Sound and Film”) in Stockholm.
You are welcome to search through the approx. 4000 Bellman interpretations in some 20 different languages, from the first phonograph cylinders to the latest CD’s!
You may choose from different types of search in the search field. You may search for individual numbers of “Fredmans epistlar” or “Fredmans sånger,” or search by artist, recording company, date of recording and type of recording product.
Please observe that the type of recording product is necessary to include before you click on “Search.”
Every recording found provides a link that leads to complete information about the recording.
